One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: ´Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ Jesus replied: ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.
Matthew 22:35-38
This explanation sounds easy and understandable; however, it is much deeper and meaningful!
Answer this question: Why do you want to go to Heaven?
The ordinary answer is: So "I" won't go to hell, I will not suffer anymore and I will be happy forever, etc.
But isn't that what Jesus said about the great commandment? He implies that whoever wants to go to heaven, to eternal life, needs to put your “I” aside, that is, to leave the "going" for "having", but rather to "love, worship, glorify the Heavenly Father", all that He truly is, and that with all your heart, soul, and mind.
