WHY DO PEOPLE FORSAKE JESUS?
From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
John 6:66
It is common that people seek God and Jesus to fulfill their personal, material needs. Rare is that people seek God and Jesus for spiritual fellowship and a future guarantee of eternal life.
When Zacchaeus sought Jesus, the crowd was about five thousand people, looking for cures, solutions, everything material, and only Zacchaeus went to Jesus for a solution of the spirit, of the soul, even knowing that Jesus would ask him for a life adjustment, having to give back what he had embezzled in his job as a tax collector.
LIFE IS A SEQUENCE OF CHOICES. MAKE THE ONE THAT LASTS FOREVER, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO GET RIGHT WHAT WAS OR IS WRONG.
But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.
